Legendary Jenks Coach Trimble To Be Inducted in National High School Hall of Fame

The late legendary Jenks football coach, Allan Trimble, will soon be inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame.

Trimble had ALS and died in 2019. The history-making football coach whose name sits in several halls of fame, who has won countless awards including USA Today's "Most Caring Coach," and whose name is displayed proudly on the Jenks football stadium, will soon be in the National High School Hall of Fame, too.

"We love anytime my dad's name gets brought up or he gets mentioned, whether that's football, just the person he was, any of his success because we love to know that his legacy is living on,” Trimble’s daughter, Tori Thomas, said.

She looks forward to the induction ceremony in Seattle this July.

"I always try to think what my dad would say in these situations because he was very good with words,” she said. “But it's not about football. And that it's just a game. And ultimately it's about impacting people's lives and just doing the most good that you can do with the small moments or interactions you have with people."

One of those interactions was hiring Keith Riggs, someone with no high school football coaching experience, coming from the business world.

"He was a great friend. He was a mentor to me. I learned so much from him. Not just football, but about life and how you treat others,” Riggs said.

That was in 2003. Riggs is now the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, and a proud friend.

"I would have loved for him to have been here to celebrate with his family. But it does -- I think one thing it does -- is it brings to light yet again all the things that he has done and all the things he means to our school and our community,” Riggs said.

Trimble was nominated for the National High School Hall of Fame in 2019, and his family said his name stayed in the nomination pool.
