Tulsa Police Warn Of Porch Pirates Ahead Of The Holidays

Earlier this week, Tulsa Police along with folks who live in several Tulsa neighborhoods posted pictures of people caught on camera stealing packages off porches.

“There's definitely an increase in it, we're seeing an increase because of the amount of stuff being delivered and amount of stuff being ordered and its an issue for sure and its sometime we attack, we combat every year"

Officer Bean says it’s also a good idea to get your packages delivered to the post office. Residents who live in Midtown says the increase in porch pirates over the holidays is concerning,

“It seems to me like its ramping up and I know that its going to continue to grow with pirates because it’s Christmas”, said Jennifer Brown

Officer Danny Bean with Tulsa Police Department recommends installing a doorbell ring camera that could potentially deter a thief.

“Get flood lights, motion censored lights that come on and if your not home yet at 5:30 and the sun might not be out and motion can be a deterrent and lights come on”, said Danny Bean, Tulsa Police Department

The Tulsa Police Department urges anyone who sees or suspects anyone of these crimes call 918-596-COPS.
