3-Year-Old Girl Joyfully Steals The Show Dressed As News On 6 Anchor

A little girl who goes to the Little Light House is taking the internet by storm because of her costume for a Hometown Heroes event at school.

Brooklyn Chandler grabbed the attention of all of us at News On 6 as she dressed up as a News On 6 anchor.

Of all the people I have interviewed in my time with Channel 6. No one has ever made me feel the kind of joy 3 year-old Brooklyn Chandler has. I wish I could say we have a special bond now, but the truth is, I saw Brooklyn make everyone she came into contact with, feel that same kind of joy.

"She doesn't know she is different than anyone else so she is just living in her confidence and it is just so fun to see," said Brooklyn’s mom Brittany Chandler.

Brittany got emotional in this interview explaining how important it is to her that the world sees her daughter, just the way she is and accepts her.

"We wanted to give her the best opportunity to build her skills how she can," said Brittany.

She was on a waiting list but eventually Brooklyn got into Little Light House.

"It is this wonderful combination of therapy and education, all focused on helping each child be as independent as they possibly can," said Little Light House Executive Director Anne McCoy.

A place where acceptance is part of the mission.

"The picture becomes one of hope and not despair," said McCoy.

For school, Brooklyn had to dress up as a Hometown Hero, so Brittany wanted her in something that reflects her unique, sassy, talkative, daughter. Brooklyn came to the event dressed as a News On 6 Anchor and stole the show.

Whoever Brooklyn will grow up to be, whatever she will grow up to accomplish, this world would be a better place if we were all just a little more like her.

"She does notice people and she wants people to know that she sees them," said Brittany.
