Driver Finds Body Near Tulsa County Road

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man noticed a body on the side of the road near MLK and East 66th Street North on Saturday.

Deputies believe the man was killed somewhere else, then left on the side of the North Garrison Avenue, next to several bags of trash. Deputy Justin Green says it's hard to tell what exactly happened to him and when.

"We have found obvious wounds to the upper abdomen. At this point it has not been determined whether those wounds are gunshot wounds, knife wounds or some other type of object," said Deputy Green.

Green says the man did not have any identification on him. Investigators will wait for the medical examiner to identify him and hope to learn something from the victim's family and friends. Investigators think the victim is in his 40s or 50s.

"See who and what they may have seen last. Where they may have seen him, who he may have been with and those kinds of things," said Deputy Green.

Deputies interviewed the man who discovered the body and says he is not considered a suspect. This marks the first suspicious death the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office is working this year.
