Bixby Superintendent Responds To Gov. Stitt's Substitute Teacher Plan

Bixby Superintendent, Rob Miller, does not agree with the Governor's plan to allow city employees as substitute teachers.

Miller said it won't work and is insulting to trained teachers.

In a statement, Miller said the plan, "Reveals the Governor's lack of understanding of how teaching and learning actually happens in schools."

He also said the plan, "diminishes the value of educators and asserts they can be easily replaced."

Miller said schools need subs who "can do more than simply supervise students for a few hours."
