The Juneteenth Festival in Tulsa's Greenwood District continues on Friday. The event will run through Sunday, leading to some temporary road closures in the downtown area.

Those who live or work in downtown Tulsa may notice that some of the streets are temporarily closed to accommodate the event.

Police started blocking the streets off on Thursday for the Juneteenth Festival that is currently happening in the Greenwood District. Those streets will remain closed until midnight on Sunday.

Starting at 6 p.m., festival attendees can stop by more than 40 black vendors, grab a bite to eat, visit the district's art exhibit and listen to live performances.

"This is open to everyone. We want everyone to come, we want everyone to be a part of what's going on in Tulsa. It's all about unity but it's definitely celebrating the Black community," said Carmel Blumenberg, event staff.

News On 6 and 106.9 K-Hits will have a booth set up featuring familiar faces, activities and a prize wheel with giveaways. The booth will also feature "donate-to-win" baskets featuring item from black-owned businesses around Tulsa. Donations will go to the John Hop Franklin Center.
