A Tulsa state senate candidate was targeted with vandalism, after she said someone spray painted a swastika on her driveway.

State Senate Candidate Cheryl Baber said she’s disappointed and worried that someone would target her home.

An unmistakable message of hate was left on Baber's driveway early on Thursday.

"This kind of thing shouldn't be tolerated," Baber said.

Baber, a Republican state senate candidate, believes it was clearly directed at her campaign.

"It's been a contentious race. It's just sad when they sink to this level and things sink to things like this," Baber said.

Local party leaders said it was "disgraceful and should never be tolerated" and Senator James Lankford said 'There is no room for hate and anti-Semitic vandalism, imagery, and language in our politics."

None of the neighbors saw it happened, but several have video they have given to police. The swastika, in red spray paint, is actually painted backwards at the end of the driveway. Baber will have it removed soon.

"Obviously we were distressed by the news and the sight of this on our driveway here in Tulsa, Oklahoma," Baber said.

Last month, someone spray painted the word 'commie' on driveways of several Tulsa democrats who had Joe Biden signs in their yards. Another victim got a swastika on theirs.

Baber is discouraged that someone with a political gripe would think this is the way to make a point.

"It did feel like a threat, to me and my family," Baber said.
